Te Rauhii End of Year Concert 2025
Our Te Rauhii End of Year Concert was an amazing celebration of everything our students have worked towards this year. For many students, this concert was their first time performing, making their bravery and pride even more special!
We are incredibly grateful for the generosity and support of the Rapid Relief Team who started our evening with a delicious shared meal, helped create a relaxed, welcoming atmosphere for students, whaanau, and supporters before the music began.
Throughout the evening, our String Scholarship students showcased their progress through individual performances on the violin or cello, demonstrating the skill and confidence they have built over the year. Group string performances highlighted collaboration and teamwork, including a beautiful rendition of Carol of the Bells. Whaea Samara also gave the audience insight into the learning journey, demonstrating how students learn the violin from the very beginning.
Our General Music students brought energy and variety to the stage through performances on xylophones, recorders, ukuleles, drums, folk dancing, and choral singing. A particularly meaningful moment was We Are One, performed with a sign language interpretation thanks to Tarsh, one of our amazing Te Rauhii parents, reinforcing our kaupapa of inclusion and connection.
The evening concluded with a fun and lively staff performance of Toss the Feathers, showcasing the musical skills our tutors bring into the programme. The piece featured a member of Te Rauhii Board of Trustees and special guest violinist Vili, a former Te Rauhii student who has continued his musical studies beyond the programme. Vili also joined the students earlier in the concert for Carol of the Bells, coming full circle as an inspiring role model for our current tamariki.
The End of Year Concert was a powerful reminder of why we do what we do – celebrating growth, courage, and the joy of making music together. We are incredibly proud of every student who took the stage and deeply thankful to the whaanau, tutors, volunteers, and supporters who make these moments possible!
